Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance(MSI) established its first branch in Shanghai, mainland China in 2001, which has developed fast and smoothly during these years. To provide more comprehensive and considerate services and to fulfill the customers’ needs, Shanghai Branch is incorporated to Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance (China) Co., Ltd (MSI China), a fully invested subsidiary of MSI in September 2007.

 

MSI China has a capital of 500 million RMB. Its main business includes Property & Casualty Insurance, Short-term Health Insurance, Personal Accident Insurance, and the Reinsurance of the insurance above.

 

Furthermore, MSI China will provide customers with the best risk solution in Shanghai (Headquarters), JiangSu(Branch),Guangdong (Branch), and Beijing (Branch) as the three major regional centers of Eastern, Southern and Northern China.

 

Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group and Aioi Insurance Co, Ltd, Nissay Dowa General Insurance Co, Ltd completed the business integration by way of statutory share transfer and established the new group “MS&AD Insurance Group in April 2010 MSI China aim to gradually establish branches in the cities where the MS&AD representative offices are located, such as Dalian, Qingdao, Hangzhou and Chengdu. We will make continuous efforts to further expand the sales network and enhance service capabilities in the future.

Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Co., Ltd (MSI) was merged from the former Mitsui Insurance Co., Ltd and the former Sumitomo Insurance Co., Ltd in 2001. Both of the two companies had a long history and extensive experience in the insurance business. In addition to that, they had strong ability and high market share. Since the merger, through expansion and quality improvement, MSI has been striving continuously to become a world-class international Non-life insurance company.

 

MSI has paid great attention to China since its opening and reform policy. As early as 1981, we established the first representative office in Beijing to keep the pace with the expansion of Chinese business customers.
